Kenya Adoption

The Children

• May be four months of age or older
  
• You may specify the gender of the child you wish to adopt

The Parents

• Must have been married (but not same-sex) for at least three years
• Must be between 25 and 53 years of age (maximum may be waived if one parent is under 53)
  
• Must be at least ten years older than the child they want to adopt

Approximate Waiting Period

Once your dossier has been received in Kenya, the estimated time for your child to be in your home is 6 months.

Travel

Both parents must travel to Kenya and spend a minimum of 6 weeks there bonding with the child. Officials prefer a three-month bonding period.
