Vietnam Adoption Agency

The agreement between the Canadian and Vietnamese governments, affecting BC residents, has been signed and adoptions from Vietnam to families in Canada are now possible. Although Vietnam is once again open for Canadians to adopt, TDH (the agency we partner with) is not currently accepting applications. The Children of Vietnam

  • Live in orphanages
  • Are generally between 2 months and 12 months of age, although older children and sibling groups may be available from time to time.

The Parents

  • Must be legally married (but not same-sex)
  • Single applicants may apply
  • Common law couples are not eligible
  • There is no age restriction but individuals over 50 years of age will not be eligible to adopt an infant.

Approximate Waiting Period

After your dossier is sent to Vietnam, the waiting period is approximately 2 years to receive a proposal.

Travel

Parents travel to Vietnam for a two-week period.
