Working in the field of adoption, we have learned that the opportunities to provide charitable assistance to those in need are virtually limitless. Poverty, illness, grief, suffering, ignorance of steps to protect a developing infant or to help a disturbed child are all hallmarks of the adoption field.
Domestic
Local projects are directed at assisting the various parts of the adoption triangle: birth parents, adopting parents and the child. Adoption issues never go away for the people touched by them - some require more support and assistance than others - but Sunrise is committed to being there for all parties to adoption, for as long as necessary

China
Half the Sky is a US based organization (with a Canadian branch) dedicated to improving the lives of orphans in China. Their website www.halfthesky.org has many suggestions for ways you can help.
Vietnam
Sunrise has made a commitment to support an orphanage in Quang Ngai Province. It is in a very poor area south of Danang and, last time we visited, they did not even have a washing machine. Now they do! There is continued need for food, books, and clothing.
South Africa
SA Cares For Life in South Africa has organized a "Cluster Project". A 'cluster' is a group of 15 families each of which has been affected by AIDS. Individuals or families donate US$100 each month to support one of the families in the "cluster". For that small amount families receive food for the month, medical care, electricity and water coupons, building supplies, and a weekly visit from a family support worker.
Each monthly donation goes directly to the cluster and helps them to help each other.
