As the leaves begin to turn their golden hues and kids are heading back to school a sense of ‘new beginnings' lingers in the air. This year, Sunrise is pleased to begin a monthly group specifically designed for adoptive parents who are in the ‘active' phase of parenting.
If convincing your toddler to wear rubber boots - not their summer sandals - in the rain and sneaking pureed zucchini into the family lasagna is a part of your daily grind - this is a group for YOU!
Parenting is the best job in the world but it is fraught with challenges and this group is designed to support you along the journey. Our Education Program Manager, and mother of two active children, will facilitate the group.
We'll cover topics such as: discipline, answering nosy questions about your child's adoption, supporting our children in the ups and downs of life, ‘what do I do when...' scenarios, and how to foster (and maintain!) attachment in everyday life.
This group is free of charge for Sunrise families but pre-registration is required.
