Kenya is a Hague Adoption Convention country. Sunrise has been accredited by the Government of Kenya to assist Canadians with Kenyan adoptions (unfortunately we are not able to assist residents of Ontario as the Ontario Government requires that their residents use only Ontario agencies).
Many families from Europe have adopted children from Kenya. Sunrise is also looking for families to provide permanent homes for Kenyan children. Adopting parents must be prepared to reside in Kenya for 9 months while the adoption process is completed. Obviously this program is not suitable for every couple, but as European experience shows, it is possible for some couples. We are looking for Canadian couples that meet this requirement and can provide a permanent family for these children.
