Adoptions from the USA are completed pursuant to the Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption.
The children from the USA are newborn infants and in many respects the process resembles a domestic adoption. There are significant differences however and the process varies from State to State.
Sunrise has completed many adoptions from the US since 1997. Sunrise completed more adoptions from the US than any other country. As is the case in international adoption elsewhere, the number of adoptions from the USA has declined, but it is still possible to do.
Sunrise also facilitates relative adoptions (the adoption of a child related to you) from USA.
