NIGERIA ADOPTIONS


Children available for intercountry adoption are in the care of the Nigerian State Governments.


The Parents

The eligibility criteria to adopt from Nigeria are:

● Must be residents of British Columbia.

● Adoptive parents should have Nigerian heritage or be dual citizens of Nigeria and Canada.

● Married couples or single female applicants.

● Unfortunately, same-sex couples are not permitted to adopt at this time. 

● Applicants should have at least an average income.

● Must be in good mental and physical health with no known conditions that would impact their ability to adequately parent the child.

● Not currently using cannabis.


The Children

● Children available for intercountry adoption are typically between 1 - 6 years of age.

● Children with the greatest need for intercountry adoption are children with identified special needs.

● Both single and sibling groups are available for adoption.

● Children currently live in orphanage care while they await a permanent family.


Relative Adoptions

Sunrise assists with relative adoptions (the adoption of a child related to you by blood) from Nigeria .

Every sunrise brings a new beginning.
