The Children
Children available for adoption typically range in age from infancy to 8 years old, with most children proposed being between 3 and 5 years of age.
Sibling groups are sometimes available and may be adopted together.
The children currently live in orphanage care.
Travel
Families begin their journey by fostering the child in Zambia for approximately 3 months before the formal court process begins, allowing time to establish stability, bonding, and routine.
The full adoption process typically requires families to remain in Zambia for 9 months or longer. It is essential that families are able to stay for this extended period, as remaining together in‑country supports continuity of care for the child while the legal process is completed prior to returning home.
Parental leave begins at the time the child is placed with the family for fostering.
